Creating spaces to delight and de-stress
By bringing an intentional focus on people’s lives and how they intersect with work, designers can help create the conditions for a workplace where people feel that being there actually helps their wellbeing and offers opportunities for moments of joy.
We asked a group of our designers from diverse regions to give us their edit on a more joyful workplace.
The Steelcase Global Interior Design Practice includes close to 200 people who partner with architects and designers to apply research and insights to solutions and workplace experiences that solve problems. Several designers curated go-to solutions for a brighter day at work.
Six Dimensions of Wellbeing
Designers are inherently optimists and problem solvers, but even they will tell you that you can’t design a space to make someone happy or content. They will say, however, that design has the potential to affect all of our senses and create the places where people can find moments of joy (whatever that may look like at the time). In fact, a range of spaces and experiences can support all of the key dimensions that impact people’s wellbeing and ability to thrive.
