Steelcase Opens Dallas WorkLife Center
With an emphasis on sustainability and the wellbeing of modern workers, the showroom is designed to function as a major hub for the organization.
Grand Rapids, MI, April 23, 2024 – Steelcase, a global design, research and thought leader in the world of work, today announces the opening of its newest WorkLife Center, bringing an expansive range of furnishings and solutions from its community of brands to Dallas, Texas.
Situated within Victory Commons One at 2601 Victory Ave., Suite 300, the Steelcase showroom will serve as one of four distinctive hub spaces in the United States outside the organization’s headquarters in Grand Rapids, MI. The Dallas WorkLife Center introduces innovative feature spaces, including hybrid collaboration spaces that integrate Steelcase solutions with Microsoft and Logitech technologies to enhance productivity and the user experience for remote and in-person participants.
Rooted in insights from Steelcase research about what people need, the Dallas WorkLife Center is comprised of three different work neighborhoods, each showcasing a variety of products and interconnected spaces designed to support the different types of work people and teams perform throughout the day. Spaces in the new WorkLife Center include a social hub, which features a hospitality area with dining and open lounge meeting spaces, an area with individual workstations and private offices as well as a learning commons showcasing the latest in education solutions.
“We are excited to share our new WorkLife Center with the vibrant business community in Dallas,” said Randy Malone, regional sales manager for Steelcase. “This space reflects our deep understanding of the changing realities of work our customers face today. WorkLife Centers function not only as showrooms, but as living labs where we can test new ways of working to help people work better.”
Dedicated to designing better futures for the wellbeing of people and the planet, Steelcase selected Victory Commons One as the home for its Dallas WorkLife Center due to its prioritization of sustainable practices and wellness. The building is LEED Silver certified, has a Gold WiredScore and is “Very Walkable” according to Walk Score. Working in tandem with Victory One’s initiatives, Steelcase designed its Dallas space using the WELL Building Standard, which not only considers the environmental aspects of the space such as indoor air quality and access to light, but also focuses on wellbeing and promotes a holistic approach to a healthy work environment. To address wellbeing needs in the workplace that recognizes people’s physical, mental and emotional needs, the Dallas WorkLife Center includes several spaces designed to meet our human needs, including lactation, reflection and wellness rooms. According to recent global Steelcase research, privacy and wellness spaces are what employees want most in their workplace.
The WorkLife Center combines an innovative approach to workplace design with an understanding of the regional aesthetics influenced by the North Texas Business community. To bring the Dallas WorkLife Center to life, Steelcase collaborated with Victory Commons One, Hillwood, real estate agency Jones Lang LaSalle, architectural firm BOKA Powell and construction firm Balfour Beatty.
“It is thanks to our partners that we were able to shape a space that not only meets the evolving needs of the modern workforce but also sets a new standard for cutting-edge workplace design,” said Malone. “Their expertise, precision and attention to sustainability have been instrumental in realizing this visionary project, creating an environment that inspires creativity and innovation.”
