Steelcase Inc. Issues 2013 Corporate Sustainability Report
Most Recent Snapshot Demonstrates Global Commitment
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., November 20, 2013 – Steelcase Inc. (NYSE:SCS) today released its 2013 Corporate Sustainability Report, which outlines the company’s sustainability promises to its stakeholders and spotlights resulting social, environmental and economic performance indicators.

The report provides a synthesis of both qualitative reporting and quantifiable measurement. It highlights the company’s sustainability objectives, achievements and stories around the world. A sampling of highlights from the report include:
- Nearly $5 million and over 6,500 volunteer hours donated.
- Significant progress on new goal of reducing environmental footprint by 25% by the end of 2020.
- A total of 4,178 pounds of electronic waste collected over the past year.
- More than 2,125 tons of greenhouse gas emissions saved by minimizing employee travel through videoconferencing technology and alternative work locations.
- An increase in U.S. fleet fuel efficiency of 13 percent, leading to more than 222,000 gallons of gas and diesel saved overall.
As further evidence of the company’s dedication, Steelcase received an honor last week from the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute for its early adoption of the Cradle to Cradle® design philosophy. This week, Steelcase continues its investment in promoting sustainable workplaces as a sponsor of Greenbuild.
