Guillaume M. Alvarez
Guillaume Alvarez is senior vice president, EMEA for Steelcase Inc., the global leader in the office furniture industry. Appointed to this role in November 2011, Guillaume is responsible for Steelcase’s sales activities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Previously, Guillaume was vice president of global client collaboration (2009-11), where he managed the company’s refreshed approach to delivering unique value to our customers through a consistent structure and process. Prior to that, he was vice president of global alliances (2008-09), which include overseeing Steelcase’s largest strategic global accounts, roughly $500 million a year in annual sales, and having responsibility for the sales teams for Vertical Markets, Applied Research and Architecture and Technology.
Guillaume was also vice president of sales for the Central Region of Steelcase North America (appointed March 2006), overseeing all sales activity in his region, one of four in the United States.
Other roles he has held at Steelcase include president, Latin America, Asia Pacific and Middle East (appointed June 2000), where he was the head of all sales, marketing and dealer development efforts in those regions; director, international marketing; general manager, Middle East, Africa and India (1996-99); and vice president, United Kingdom, Eire, Benelux and Latin America, for Steelcase International (appointed September 2000), responsible for all aspects of sales and marketing in these countries, as well as dealer development for all markets outside of North America.
Guillaume earned a diplome universitaire de technologie in marketing from the University of Paris in Paris, France in 1981 and received his diplome d’etudes universitaire general in sociology a year later from the same institution. He also served in the French Army as an assistant advisory officer stationed in Freiburg, Germany.

Sara E. Armbruster
Sara Armbruster is the President and CEO of Steelcase Inc., the company trusted by organizations around the world to create inspiring, productive, adaptable, and safe workplaces.
In addition to her role on the company’s board of directors, Sara brings executive experience from several positions to the office of CEO, which she assumed in October 2021. Most recently, she served as executive vice president of Steelcase and, before that, as vice president, strategy, research and digital transformation. As leader of this group, Sara was responsible for advancing digital technologies and digital transformation at Steelcase, as well as leadership of the IT organization.
Sara has also had responsibility for a range of innovation activities including global design research, the design and implementation of new business models, and the development of external growth opportunities, including acquisitions and partnerships. ln addition, in past roles Sara has had oversight for the company’s Applied Research + Consulting practice, Steelcase Health, Steelcase Education and the PolyVision subsidiary, which Steelcase divested in 2019.
Before joining Steelcase, Sara served as vice president of business development at Banta Corporation, a publicly traded global printing and supply chain services company based in Menasha, Wisconsin. ln that role, she led strategy development and managed all merger and acquisition activity. Sara also worked for McKinsey & Company in Boston, Massachusetts, and Andersen Consulting in New York City. Her consulting experience spanned industries and included work in North America, Europe and Asia.
Sara currently serves on the board of directors of Winnebago Industries, Catalyst, and Chief Executives for Corporate Purpose. She also sits on the boards of BIFMA, Business Leaders for Michigan, and the Steelcase Foundation, and is a member of Business Roundtable.
Sara holds a bachelor’s degree in Slavic languages and literatures from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut; a master’s degree in international relations from the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies of Johns Hopkins University in Washington, D.C.; and an MBA from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire.

Donna K. Flynn
Donna Flynn is vice president, Global Talent Management, leading our efforts to attract, retain, develop and inspire Steelcase employees around the world. She has been with the company since 2011 and was appointed to this role in March 2020.
Prior to this work, Donna served as vice president, Workspace Futures, where her team of researchers studied the future of work, workers and the workplace. The team’s insights, developed by studying people, their habits and interactions, inform Steelcase culture principles and product development.
Before joining Steelcase, Donna spent eight years as an experience strategist and research manager at Microsoft, helping to develop user experiences guided by a consistent set of design tools. She was also a social science analyst at the International Center for Research on Women (1997) in Washington, D.C., as well as an international development consultant (1996-98).
Donna earned her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology/African and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Colorado. She was a Fulbright Scholar from 1993 to 1994, and additionally received a Ph.D. in Anthropology from Northwestern University.

Robert G. Krestakos
Bob Krestakos is vice president, Global Operations at Steelcase Inc. The global leader in the office furniture industry.
Named to this role in March 2015, Bob is responsible for Supply Chain, which includes Order Fulfillment, Procurement, Manufacturing, Transportation, and Distribution, at all locations around the globe.
Previously, Bob was vice president, Americas Operations, a role he held alongside his previous role of vice president, Information Technology (2013-2015). During this time, he focused on introducing new technologies into the manufacturing arena. As of January 2015, Bob was focused solely on Operations.
Previously, Bob was vice president, Information Technology (2007-15). Prior to that, he was vice president, Global Technology Infrastructure (2005-07), where he co-led global IT services, with responsibility for systems, networks and associated technical services for all of Steelcase.
Bob joined Steelcase in 1992 as a consulting and systems programmer, responsible for the design, implementation and support of the data communications network.
Other roles he has held with the company are manager of Network Services (August – December 1997), overseeing the implementation and support of the voice and data communications infrastructure for Steelcase North America; director of the Business Technology Group, (December 1997 – October 2002), responsible for the design and implementation of the infrastructure systems of Steelcase North America; and director of Technical Services and Operations (October 2002 – July 2005), responsible for all aspects of Steelcase North America’s technology infrastructure, including the deployment, operation and support of the infrastructure’s hardware and software systems.
Prior to joining Steelcase, Bob worked for Digital Equipment Corporation in New Hampshire from July 1984 to September 1992, where he was a principal software engineer. In that role, he designed and implemented major software systems for transaction processing, network communication and database integration systems.
Bob holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and mathematics from Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.

Terry Lenhardt
Named to this role in October, 2021, he is responsible for the launch and profitability for all products across the entire Steelcase family of brands and for the regional teams within the global Marketing organization. Terry has been in product marketing since 2018.
Previously, Terry held a dual role as Chief Information Officer (CIO), overseeing all of Steelcase’s IT functions while leading Sales Finance for the Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific, which he had done since 2011 with responsibility for corporate financial planning and analysis, marketing finance and operations finance.
Prior to that, Terry was vice president, North American Finance, for Steelcase Inc (2005-10), where he was responsible for implementing North American financial strategy and developing strong monthly and quarterly analyses of financial results.
Terry joined Steelcase in 1994 as vice president of Finance for the Steelcase Design Partnership. In 1997, he became responsible for leading the Market and Business Intelligence function for Steelcase North America. Terry later served as vice president of Corporate Strategy & Development.
Prior to joining Steelcase, Terry worked for 10 years at Unisys Corporation, where he held a number of finance leadership positions, including director of Corporate Planning and Analysis and director of finance, Japan Operations. Terry began his career as an auditor for the public accounting firm of Touche Ross & Co., where he earned certification as a public accountant.
Terry earned a bachelor of science degree in accountancy from Wayne State University, and a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from the Graduate School of the University of Detroit.

Steve Miller
Steve Miller serves as Chief Technology Officer for Steelcase Inc. In this role, he is responsible for leading our digital transformation efforts and exploring the intersection between technology and business strategy, along with day-to-day oversight of the information technology organization.
Previously, Steve held the title of Chief Information Officer. As CIO, Steve had general responsibility for the Steelcase Global Information Technology organization, which has been recognized with numerous awards for innovation in technology and data analytics. Since joining Steelcase in 1999 as a programmer, Steve has served in numerous other roles, including Director of both Technology Services and Operations and the Steelcase Innovation Management Office. His work across the company has included a range of responsibilities, including digitizing our technical support teams, serving as Director, Asia Pacific Information Technology on the Asia Pacific Leadership team in Hong Kong, launching the company’s shared service centers, leading the technology innovation office and having general responsibility for Steelcase’s technology infrastructure and support teams.
Steve is passionate about technology and speaks with hundreds of leading organizations on how Agile and digital transformation are impacting culture and the needs of people at work. He is a graduate of Michigan State University, where he studied Chemical Engineering and Biochemistry, where he worked in the Biochemistry research lab.

Gale Moutrey
Gale Moutrey is Vice President, Global Communication for the Steelcase family of brands. She is also Publisher and Executive Editor of the 360 Magazine, a global publication that delivers Steelcase research and explores trends impacting work, workers and the workplace.
In her role Gale travels the world – virtually and physically – speaking with customers, design professionals and leading organizations about the changing nature of work and the important role of the workplace. A graduate of the University of Toronto, Gale has held a variety of communication, marketing and sales roles since joining Steelcase in 1983, and lives in Toronto, Canada.

Lizbeth S. O'Shaughnessy
Beth took on the additional duties of chief administrative officer in July 2014, expanding her role as senior vice president, chief legal officer and secretary (2011-14). In addition to her leadership of legal services, Beth is now responsible for several other groups, including sustainability, community relations, global trade compliance and environmental performance; and corporate governance as the secretary of the board of directors.
Previously, Beth was vice president, chief legal officer and secretary (2007-11) with global leadership responsibility for all legal services and consultation advice necessary to support the company’s global business and to provide research, review and active involvement in legal matters for various groups within the company.
Prior to that, Beth was assistant general counsel and assistant corporate secretary. Appointed assistant general counsel in 2000, she was responsible for providing legal services and consultation advice necessary to support the company’s global business, and to research, review and be actively involved in various legal issues, including global antitrust/competition law and distribution matters, and all legal matters for parts of Europe, the Middle East and all of Latin America and Central America. She also had responsibility for corporate governance as the assistant secretary of the nominating and corporate governance committee of the board of directors during 2005 and 2006.
Beth joined Steelcase in 1992 as corporate counsel and was promoted to senior corporate counsel in 1995 and then to assistant general counsel in 2000. She also spent two years as an expatriate in the Netherlands for Steelcase (August 2001 – August 2003), during which time she was focused entirely on providing legal services to Steelcase International.
Prior to joining Steelcase, Beth was employed from 1987 to 1992 at The Dow Chemical Company as an antitrust attorney.
Beth earned her juris doctor degree from Indiana University at Bloomington in 1987. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Michigan State University in 1984.

Eddy F. Schmitt
Eddy Schmitt is senior vice president, Americas for Steelcase Inc., the global leader in the office furniture industry.
He was appointed to this role in 2011. Previously Eddy was vice president, France (2006-11) and vice president, Marketing and R&D for EMEA and APAC (2003-06).
In addition to the Americas, Eddy also leads Steelcase’s Global Client Collaboration team. This team is based in the Americas, EMEA, APAC and serves Steelcase’s largest clients in an integrated way around the world.
Prior to joining Steelcase, Eddy worked for The Boston Consulting Group between 1993 and 2003 in Paris and New York City.
Eddy is a graduate of the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC) in Paris, France. He also studied at the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business and the University of Economics in Vienna, Austria.

Allan W. Smith Jr.
Allan Smith is Chief Revenue Officer for Steelcase Inc., the global leader in the office furniture industry.
In this role, Allan oversees all revenue-generating business functions globally within the company, including Steelcase Workspace Futures, Global Design and Product Engineering, Marketing, Communications and Sales. His team is responsible for developing insights about the future of work and applying those insights to ensure new, relevant products are brought to market to meet emerging customer needs.
Formerly, Allan served as vice president, global marketing for Steelcase from October 2013 – October 2021, where he oversaw and led all marketing functions and teams globally, including curating the worldwide product portfolio for all brands, product and lifecycle management, product development and launch, communications and branding. Allan’s teams played a key role in the transformation of research and insights into innovative products and applications.
Prior to that, Allan was general manager, architecture and furniture, where he ran the company’s largest businesses in the Americas. He additionally served as vice president of marketing, where he led research, product development, engineering, design and marketing communications for Steelcase in Europe. Since joining the company in 1991, he has served in a number of other positions, including leading the company’s environmental strategy and working in various marketing, communications and investor relations communications roles at Steelcase and Designtex.

David C. Sylvester
Dave Sylvester is senior vice president, chief financial officer for Steelcase Inc., the global leader in the office furniture industry.
Named to this role in April 2011, Dave expanded on his previous role as vice president, chief financial officer (2006-11) and also took responsibility for global facilities and real estate and Steelcase aviation. In November 2013, Dave also added information technology to his reporting structure, before information technology moved to directly report to the CEO in January 2015. In March 2014, our Global Business Centers were added to his responsibilities.
Previously, Dave was vice president, operations finance (March 2005-October 2006), responsible for operations finance in North America and internationally. He also worked closely with the supply chain organization on product and process placement decisions and on implementing supply chain strategy around the world.
Dave began his Steelcase career in 1995 as manager, financial reporting and planning. In 1998 he became director and assistant controller, corporate finance, for Steelcase Inc., primarily responsible for all internal and external financial reporting and analysis. During this time, Dave helped Steelcase Inc. with the transition to becoming a publicly traded company in 1998.
Dave then served as finance leader for Steelcase International based in Strasbourg, France (2001-2005), responsible for all finance related activities outside of the United States and Canada, including profitability analyses, EVA measurement, accounting and reporting, acquisition integration, as well as a variety of special projects.
Before joining Steelcase, Dave held several audit positions with PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan, in 1987 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s of business administration in finance.
Dave is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
