Steelcase Recognized as One of America’s 50 Most Community-Minded Companies

Grand Rapids, MI, May 14, 2024 – For the seventh year, Steelcase has been named a 2024 honoree of The Civic 50 by Points of Light for being one of the 50 most community-minded companies in the United States.

The Civic 50, now in its 12th year, provides a national standard for superior corporate citizenship and showcases how companies can use their time, skills and resources to impact their communities. Sponsored by Points of Light, the world’s largest nonprofit dedicated to volunteer service, The Civic 50 ranks companies with annual revenues of at least $1B in four areas: investment of resources, integration across business functions, institutionalization through policies and systems and impact measurement.

Steelcase has extensive involvement in community programs, including a mix of volunteer time, product and service donations, financial gifts and the integration of community commitment into business policies and practices through its Better Futures Community. This recognition shines a light on the company’s 169 community partnerships and 278 global projects in fiscal year 2024.

The company’s social innovation efforts include:

  • Steelcase Changemakers: All Steelcase employees around the world engage in their community by leveraging our global scale, resources, tools and expertise.
  • Better Futures Fund: Steelcase invests in promising ideas while engaging in a collaborative journey to uncover possibilities and co-create solutions with partners. The organization provides resources such as capital, consulting, furniture and more to bring their early-stage ideas to life.
  • Better Futures Network: Employees, clients, dealers and more join together for workshops, thought-leadership sessions and design challenges across the globe that are rooted in shared practice and purpose for collective impact.

“We’re honored to again be recognized by The Civic 50 for our continued work and commitment to be a catalyst to drive social impact for a more just and equitable world where everyone thrives,” said Kim Dabbs, Steelcase vice president of ESG and social innovation. “Only when we work together – individuals, businesses, organizations and governments – can we truly make a positive difference in the world. We are committed to engaging on a collaborative journey by thinking, learning and co-creating together with our community partners.”
